This page describes several mailing lists that BITS feels may be of interest to visually impaired individuals interested in computers.
BITS MAILING LIST
This is the mailing list for the Blind Information Technology Specialist, Inc. (BITS) This list is used to discuss items of interest to BITS members and also topics related to adaptive technology in general. Since BITS members work in a variety of fields and use computers for a wide variety of tasks, the information and points of view also vary greatly.
In order to join this list, you must be a member of BITS in good standing. All subscriptions require approval from the list owner.
To submit a subscription request, simply follow the join BITS mailing list link below. Following this link will cause your e-mail program to send a message to the listserve. You should simply hit send and send a blank message. As an alternative to following this link, you can send a blank e-mail to bitss-subscribe@acb.org.

This list focuses on any kind of programming question, particularly in the areas of languages such as Visual Basic and Visual C++. This list is run by a Scotsman named George Bell who also sells adaptive technology in the UK through a company called Techno-Vision. This list discusses a wide variety of advanced programming topics, some of which relate to the visually impaired programmer.
