BITS CONVENTION PROGRAM 2009
Sunday July 5
10:00 Opening remarks, Richard Villa, BITS President
10:10 Introductions
10:30: Orientation in the 21st century:
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based technology that allows someone traveling a route almost anywhere on earth, to know where they are located. A number of Programmed solutions for the blind which take advantage of this technology are now available for devices such as cell phones, as well as note takers, such as the PAC Mate, Braille Sense and BrailleNote. Join us to learn what features make these products similar, as well as what differentiates them.
1:30: Vendor Showcase: Come see what’s new, and what’s updated in technology from the vendors presenting at the ACB convention. After this presentation in a quiet meeting room in which vendors have 10 minute spots to do Q and A with you in the audience, you should have a better idea of specific products you might wish to explore further in the convention exhibit hall.
Monday July 6
1:30 how technology can make our lives easier.
Michael Lauff is a representative from Serotek: creators of the System Access Mobile Network. Levelstar created the Icon, a piece of technology that brings a variety of internet-based resources into one easy-to-use package. Come see how these two resources can enhance the accessibility of internet-based technologies, and learn how the variety of information available on the web can enhance your life. Other technologies will be discussed as well.
